Transport

East Dulwich Rail Station is in the London Borough of Southwark. The station, and the trains which serve it are operated by Southern, and it is in Travelcard Zone 2.





Trains go to London Bridge via Peckham Rye where connections can be made to the London Overground network to Canada Water, Shoreditch and Highbury and Islington. Train times according to TFL are 15 minutes to London Bridge station, 3 minutes to Peckham Rye station for the interchange with the East London line, and 22 minutes to Beckenham Junction station.

Recreation

The main shopping area is centred around is Lordship Lane which offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.

On Saturdays North Cross Road (just off Lordship Lane) hosts a bustling market with antiques, crafts and specialist food stalls. There is also a very large Sainsbury’s supermarket on Dog Kennel Hill.

The East Dulwich Picturehouse & Cafe on Lordship Lane opened in April 2015 and promises to become another major cultural draw for the area.

Local amenities include the Passmore Edwardes Library.

East Dulwich Forum is the local online forum where members of the community can seek advice, guidance, jobs, debate on local community issues and buy and sell goods all in one local on line area.

Dulwich Hamlet Football Club has its home at Champion Hill Stadium next to Sainsbury’s on Dog Kennel Hill. The club is currently a member of the National League South, the sixth tier of English football. Having a local football club brings with it a strong community spirit to the area.
